This day is considered very auspicious and important in Hindu religion. On this day, special worship of the Tulsi plant is done. Auspicious time for Tulsi worship
There is no specific ‘puja’ time for Tulsi worship, as it is celebrated throughout the day, but Brahma Muhurta (time before sunrise) and twilight time (evening time) are considered best for worship.
Method of worship of Tulsi
On this auspicious day, devotees wake up at Brahma Muhurta and take bath. After bathing, clean and washed clothes, especially red clothes, are worn. Red color is considered a symbol of auspiciousness. The place of worship is thoroughly cleaned and decorated with flowers and attractive rangoli. Install Tulsi Mata on a clean platform. Offer water to the basil plant. After this, apply kumkum and turmeric to Tulsi Mata.
Tulsi Mata is adorned 16 times, in which she is offered red chunari, flowers, garland and other adornment items like bangles, bindi. Offer fruits, sweets, incense and lamp. Chant the mantras of Tulsi Mata. After worship, revolve around the Tulsi plant 7, 11, 21, or 108 times. While doing parikrama, blessings of happiness, prosperity and health are sought from Tulsi Mata. At last, perform Aarti and distribute Prasad to everyone.
