Importance of Tulsi Puja: In Hindu religion, Tulsi plant is not just a plant but is considered to be the actual form of Goddess. According to the calendar, in the year 2025, Tulsi Puja Day will be celebrated on 25th December, Thursday. Although Dashami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Paush month will start from the evening of 24th December, but as per Uday Tithi and Hindu tradition, the festival is celebrated on the same day on which the Tithi occurs at the time of sunrise. Therefore, 25th December is the best day for Tulsi worship.
Simple method of Tulsi worship
Wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes. Clean the area around the Tulsi plant and sprinkle Ganga water if possible. Offer pure water to Tulsi Mata. Apply roli or kumkum tilak to Mother Tulsi. Cover them with red chunari and offer flowers and garlands. Light a ghee lamp and incense sticks near Tulsi. What things should be kept in mind while worshiping Tulsi?
- Do not pluck basil leaves on Sunday, Amavasya and Ekadashi.
- Never water basil at night.
- Do not touch Tulsi without taking bath.
