Rules of Tulsi Puja: There is a Tulsi plant in every house. Tulsi is worshiped considering her as mother. In the Puranas, Tulsi has been described as the wife of Lord Vishnu. It is said that Shri Hari Vishnu had chosen Tulsi Mata by deceit. Mother Lakshmi resides in the Tulsi plant. Worship of Tulsi at home is considered especially fruitful, but it is told in Vastu and astrology that Tulsi Mata should be worshiped as per the rules.
These things must be kept in mind while worshiping Tulsi Mata. Because mistakes made in the worship of Tulsi Mata start giving inauspicious results.
Keep these things in mind during Tulsi Puja
offer water to basil
Water should be offered daily to Tulsi Mata during worship. It is believed that in the house where Tulsi Mata is worshiped daily, Goddess Lakshmi always resides there and the blessings of Lord Vishnu remain there.
Do not offer water during these days
There are some days mentioned in Hindu religion and Vastu Shastra on which water should not be offered to Tulsi Mata. Water should not be offered to Tulsi Mata on Sunday and Ekadashi. Apart from this, water should not be offered to Tulsi Mata even at night.
Do not touch Tulsi without bathing
According to Vastu Shastra, one should never touch Tulsi ji without taking bath. One should always touch Tulsi Mata and pluck its leaves only after bathing.
Do not pluck basil leaves in the evening
Many people pluck Tulsi leaves at any time without regard to day or night, but plucking Tulsi leaves in the evening is prohibited because it is believed that Tulsi Mata rests in the evening, hence plucking Tulsi leaves at this time is not auspicious.
