Leeds: Seasoned India all-rounder Deepti Sharma is using her stint in The Hundred to fine-tune her skills across all three departments ahead of the Women’s Asia Cup later this month.
The Asia Cup is scheduled to begin in Dubai on August 28, while The Hundred is set to wrap up with the final on August 16 . Deepti is currently in fine form with the ball and in the field for defending champions Sunrisers Leeds Women.
“Right now, my focus is on The Hundred. The Women’s Asia Cup is starting from 28th August, and that is an important tournament for the Indian team,” Deepti said on JioStar.
“Playing in The Hundred is giving me a great opportunity to work on my skills in all three departments, batting, bowling, and fielding. I am trying to make the most of this tournament so that I can go into the Asia Cup well prepared.”
“I’m giving my best for Sunrisers Leeds, and that will help me grow as a player and also benefit the team in the long run,” she added.
Deepti said representing India carries a sense of pride as well as responsibility, with the support of the fans providing an added motivation to perform.
