IIndia-US relations: Amidst the increasing tension in relations between America and India, American foreign policy expert Rust Kohle has given a big statement. He says that America’s anti-India policies actually started during Joe Biden’s tenure and Trump is now pursuing them more aggressively.
There is a general feeling in Washington that it is necessary to prevent India from becoming the third superpower and for this America can influence India’s relations with neighboring countries.
According to Rust Kohle, the cracks in India-US relations had started deepening from 2024 itself. While India hoped that the situation would improve once Trump returned to power, the reality was just the opposite. Trump is not only continuing Biden’s policies but has also intensified them. America’s increasing penetration in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Maldives is part of this strategy.
America supported India till the end of 2023
Rust Kohle said that America will continue to support India till the end of 2023 and expects that India will support it against China. But patience paid off in 2024. The Biden administration worked against India’s interests on issues like Bangladesh, Khalistani terrorist Pannun and the dispute related to Adani. India considered this an attempt to weaken Modi and hoped that everything would be fine after Trump’s return, but Trump doubled down on this policy.
Relations with neighboring countries may deteriorate
Experts say that India’s relations with neighboring countries may worsen in the near future. Washington thinks that if India wants to leave America and become the third pole, then America will not help in its rise and along with China will block its path.
Hope for help from Russia is useless
According to Rust Kohle, India does not have any strong ally like Russia. Russia could not save its close allies Armenia from Azerbaijan and Iran from Israel. Therefore, India will have to compromise with America and find a way to work with Trump.
Gave advice to India
Kohle believes that India should keep its ambitions under control for the next 10 years, like China did. When China was equal to India, it did not openly talk about becoming a superpower, but quietly developed and moved forward together with its main adversary. India should also adopt the same strategy.
America’s stance with Pakistan
Meanwhile, during the visit of Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir to America, the White House made it clear that Washington’s relations with India and Pakistan remain unchanged. US State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said diplomats are committed to both countries. This statement came when questions were asked on Munir’s nuclear threats.
