What is America’s new tariff investigation and why is India included in it?
US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said that this investigation has been started under Section 301 of the Trade Act 1974. America uses this law when it feels that a country is using unfair trade policies.
Apart from India, big countries like China, European Union, Japan, South Korea and Mexico are also involved in this investigation. America says that in some countries there is excessive production in the manufacturing sector, which is creating imbalance in the global market.
