US President Donald Trump on Thursday said American forces had conducted multiple airstrikes against ISIS-linked militants operating in Nigeria, describing the operation as both “powerful” and “deadly.” He accused the terror group of carrying out brutal attacks against civilians, particularly Christians, in parts of the country.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the strikes were authorised directly by him and targeted ISIS fighters based in northwest Nigeria. He claimed the US military delivered a series of precision attacks aimed at crippling the group’s operations in the region.
