Trump’s national emergency on Venezuela’s earnings
US President Donald Trump on Saturday signed an executive order that caught the world’s attention. Under this order, Venezuelan oil earnings kept in the US have been completely protected from any kind of legal action, seizure or court case. According to the White House, now no court, lender or private company will be able to claim the money deposited in America’s treasury accounts from the sale of Venezuelan crude oil and its related products. The Trump administration has declared a national emergency for this. The government says that if this money gets entangled in court cases or legal claims, it could weaken America’s foreign policy and strategy regarding Venezuela.
