Bengaluru: A 33-year-old man was hacked to death by assailants in south Bengaluru, police officials said on Monday.
The police said the deceased, Nikhil from Mysuru, moved to the city a week ago and drove a Tata Ace mini pickup truck for a living.
On Monday, around 7.30 pm, Nikhil was sitting in his parked vehicle at the AK Colony near Jayanagar.
“Out of the blue, around five to six assailants arrived at the scene and fatally attacked the victim with machetes,” a police officer told DH.
He was taken to the hospital, but to no avail and was declared dead.
The Banashankari police have registered a murder case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). A probe has been launched to trace and arrest the suspects, the police said.
