Truck driver arrested over viral video of ‘zigzagging’ through traffic on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Nuh

New Delhi: Police in Nuh arrested a man and seized his truck container on Sunday after he was caught on camera driving recklessly and dangerously on a stretch of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Nuh, after a purported video of the incident went viral on social media.

The video, widely circulated on social media, shows the driver of the truck container performing reckless and dangerous stunts on the Delhi-Mumbai Baroda Expressway, endangering the lives of other passengers. Police arrested the accused truck driver after the video went viral on social media.

According to police, the incident occurred on the expressway in the Firozpur Jhirka Sadar police station area of ​​the district on February 3. The video quickly went viral on WhatsApp and other social media, prompting police to take cognisance, identify the truck’s license plate, and begin an investigation. During the investigation, the driver was identified as Sabir, a resident of the Naugaon police station area of ​​Alwar district, Rajasthan. Police arrested him and impounded his truck.

Police said that a case has been registered against the driver for violating traffic rules and reckless driving. Such actions not only endanger the lives of other drivers but can also lead to major accidents, officials said. On the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, Nuh, traffic police are vigilant on the expressway and strict action is being taken in such cases, they added.

Nuh police have warned that traffic violations will not be tolerated and that such videos circulating on social media will be investigated immediately.
