In 2015, in the battle between Grand Alliance vs NDA, JDU candidate Veena Bharti defeated LJP’s Anant Kumar Bharti by a huge margin of 52,400 votes. Veena Bharti got 89,869 votes while Ananth Kumar got only 37,469 votes. This victory proves that at that time JDU’s dominance on this seat was unbreakable.
Tough competition in 2020
The 2020 election was very exciting. RJD’s Santosh Kumar gave a tough challenge to Veena Bharti. Veena Bharti won at the last moment by a very narrow margin of 3,031 votes. He got 79,458 votes while Santosh Kumar got 76,427 votes. This result is an indication that the opposition has breached the JDU stronghold.
