Triumph Thruxton 400 Launched At Rs 2.74 Lakh In India

Triumph Thruxton 400 Launch: Triumph has launched its much-awaited cafe racer model in the Indian market, dubbed the Thruxton 400. Priced at Rs 2.74 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Thruxton 400 shares most of its mechanical components with the Speed 400, but the semi-fairing, clip-on handlebars (with bar-end mirrors), a blacked-out USD (upside-down) fork setup, a rear-seat cowl, and Thruxton badging make it look distinctive. A rectangular taillamp and a slender fender make up the tail section.

Though the fuel tank appears to be sharper, it can hold the same 13 litres of fuel. Other notable differences include a remote brake reservoir, revised side panels, and a redesigned seat. As for its riding ergonomics, the Thruxton 400 enables a forward-leaning riding stance as compared to the Speed 400’s upright riding position. The clip-ons are lower-set, while the footpegs have been repositioned to suit the Thruxton 400’s character. Triumph offers four colour options for the bike: Lava Red Gloss, Phantom Black, Pearl Metallic White, and Metallic Racing Yellow.

Triumph Thruxton 400: Chassis, Engine

Chassis and mechanical components remain the same as the Speed 400. However, the Speed 400 features a golden USD fork, whereas the Thruxton 400 gets a blacked-out unit. Powering the Thruxton 400 is the familiar 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The engine develops 41.5 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. While the torque output remains unchanged, the power figure has been increased by 2 bhp, with maximum power arriving at 1,000 rpm more than before. A 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch is also available.
