‘Triumph reflects exceptional skills, determination’: PM Modi hails Team India’s T20 World Cup win

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian Cricket Team for creating history by winning the T20 World Cup 2026 and winning the trophy at home in style. India defeated New Zealand in the final by 96 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, March 8. Suryakumar Yadav and company became the first side to win the T20 World Cup on home soil.

“Champions! Congratulations to the Indian team on winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup! This remarkable triumph reflects exceptional skills, determination and teamwork. They have shown outstanding grit through the tournament. This victory has filled every Indian heart with pride and joy,” PM Modi posted on X.
