Trisha strongly reacts to Tamil Nadu BJP Chief’s disrespectful remarks against her

Mumbai: Actress Trisha Krishnan released a strong-worded statement through her legal advisor following a crass comment by Tamil Nadu’s BJP Chief Nainar Nagendran. The politician’s words were widely criticised by the public.

The controversy started when Nainar mentioned Trisha in a statement against actor Vijay. Addressing Vijay’s political ambition, he said that the actor should first come out of Trisha’s home to gain experience in politics and succeed in it. Trisha responded to the controversy through a statement. Sharing it on social media, the actress wrote, “Disrespect should and always will be called out.”

Subsequently, Trisha’s legal advisor, Nithyaesh Natraj, reshared the statement. “My client (Trisha) never expected that such a distasteful and inappropriate remark would be made by a person holding a high stature in the State’s political space.” Further, it said that the actress was not associated with any political party.

“My client wishes to be defined only by her craft and not by any alleged political alignment. Further and most importantly, it is common saying that personal lives should never be made the subject of public commentary or discourse, and it is expected that persons holding high positions maintain responsibility and equanimity in public discourse,” said the statement. In conclusion, it read, “It is requested that my client’s name not be drawn into matters that do not concern her.”

Trisha controversy

Nainar was responding to Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), becoming DMK’s sole challenge in the Assembly elections. He mocked the actor by stating, “Poor man, he is completely inexperienced. First, he needs to come out of his house. Come out of Trisha’s house first, then something can happen.” Nainar went on to advise Vijay to maintain a good relationship with his family. The politician’s comments did sit well with many. They criticised him for dragging Vijay’s personal life to beat him in political debate.
