Trisha Krishnan Shares Cryptic Post About ‘Drama’ Amid Vijay-Sangeetha’s Divorce Case Withdrawal

Trisha Krishnan has found herself at the centre of online speculation after sharing cryptic messages on Instagram, days after Sangeetha Sornalingam withdrew her divorce petition against actor-turned-politician Vijay. One of Trisha’s posts, which spoke about “drama” and finding peace, immediately caught attention given the longstanding speculation linking her name with Vijay. However, Trisha did not mention Vijay, Sangeetha or anyone else in either post, but the timing of the Instagram stories tells a tale of its own.

Trisha Krishnan has shared a couple of cryptic messages on her Instagram Stories, with the timing of the posts prompting social media users to draw their own conclusions. One of the messages read, “Drama at this age is embarrassing … Go make some money and find peace.” Trisha accompanied the post with an emoji, but did not provide any context or indicate who the message was aimed at. She also re-shared another post that read, “What a privilege it is to be overwhelmed by a life you once prayed for,” adding an evil eye emoji.

While neither post directly mentioned  , their timing has attracted attention. The development comes shortly after Sangeetha Sornalingam withdrew her divorce petition against Vijay from the Chengalpattu Family Court. Sangeetha had filed the petition in February 2026, seeking to end her marriage to Vijay. Reports about the case had generated considerable public interest, with the petition reportedly containing allegations of adultery and cruelty. The allegations were made as part of the legal proceedings and have not been independently established.

On August 7, Sangeetha appeared before the Chengalpattu Family Court through video conference and informed Judge Sujatha that she wished to withdraw the petition. The court subsequently permitted the withdrawal, bringing the proceedings to an end. Reports said the hearing lasted around 15 minutes.

The withdrawal brought an unexpected conclusion to a case that had remained under considerable public and media scrutiny for several months.

According to reports on the case, Sangeetha’s petition alleged that Vijay had been involved in an adulterous relationship with an actress. She claimed that she became aware of the alleged relationship in April 2021 and that it caused her significant emotional distress. The petition further alleged that Vijay had assured her that he would end the alleged relationship but that his association with the actress continued.

Trisha’s latest posts come at a time when her name has already been involved in another controversy. Earlier this month, DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin faced criticism following a remark at a protest concerning the Cauvery water dispute. Reports said members of the crowd chanted Trisha’s name, following which Udhayanidhi made a comment that was interpreted by critics as a double entendre involving the actress and Vijay.

The remark sparked a political controversy, with Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) women’s wing reportedly filing a complaint. TVK also held protests across Tamil Nadu over the comments, describing them as objectionable. Udhayanidhi was subsequently questioned by police in connection with the controversy and was granted station bail, according to reports. The DMK has maintained that his comments were misrepresented and were related to the government’s handling of the Cauvery issue rather than being directed at an individual.

For the uninitiated, Trisha and Vijay have worked together in several successful Tamil films, including Ghilli, Kuruvi, Thirupaachi and Leo. Their on-screen chemistry is popular among Tamil cinema audiences, and their professional association has frequently fuelled online discussion.
