In a program organized at the martyr memorial in Mussoorie on Tuesday, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the agitators Balbir Singh Negi, Belmati Chauhan, Hansa Dhanai, Dhanpat Singh, Rai Singh Bangari and Madan Mohan Mamgai, who were martyred in Mussoorie during the Uttarakhand state movement.

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the state agitators made their brilliant contribution in the construction of Uttarakhand by putting their current stake for our better future. He said that the day of September 2, 1994 will be mentioned as a black chapter in the history of the state. On this day, the agitators, who were protesting peacefully on the Veerbhoomi of Mussoorie, faced police bullets. The incident was a symbol of the oppressive attitude of the ruling parties of the time, who tried to crush a peaceful movement with merciless.

Chief Minister Pushkar said that the government has expressed his gratitude to the state agitators and implemented 10 percent horizontal reservation in government jobs for him and his dependents. Along with this, a monthly pension facility of Rs 3000 for the families of martyred agitators has also been started. The injured and jailed agitators are being given Rs 6000 and active agitators are being given a pension of Rs 4500 per month.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that during the time of the previous governments, there was a system of horizontal reservation for only one dependent state agitators, but now the abandoned, widow and divorced daughters of the agitators identified under the new law will also get the benefit of this reservation. Not only this, the state government has issued identity cards to the identified state agitators and has also employed 93 agitators in state service. Along with this, the system of free education in schools and colleges is also being provided to the children of state agitators and free travel facility to agitators in government buses. The Chief Minister said that the state government has also implemented 30 percent horizontal reservation for women in government jobs.

The Chief Minister said that the state agitators had a dream that our culture, language and traditions should be created. For this purpose, the state government has implemented equal rights and duties for all citizens in the state by implementing the “Uniform Civil Code”. At the same time, to provide equal opportunities for employment with transparency to the youth of the state, the most effective anti -copy law of the country was implemented and more than 100 copy mafia were sent to jail. After this, more than 25 thousand youth in Uttarakhand have succeeded in getting government jobs.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is working with full commitment to preserve the demography of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. For this, while strict anti -conversion law was implemented in the state, more than 9 thousand acres of government land has been freed from encroachment. Along with this, the state government has also made a strict anti -rioting law to teach the rioters to make up the damage to the riots. Recently, the government has decided to abolish the Madrasa Board in the state by implementing a new law. After the implementation of this law, only after July 1, 2026, only the same madrasas will be operated in Uttarakhand, in which the syllabus prescribed by the government board will be taught. More than two hundred and fifty madrasas operated illegally in the state have also been closed. The state government is also taking strict action against the hypocrites that defame Sanatan culture in the state through ‘Operation Kalnemi’.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister talked about constructing the Garhwal Sabha building soon and resolving the case of Sifan Court soon and assured to take quick action on other demands including the announcement of vendor zone in Mussoorie. The CM said that the state government will also celebrate the birth centenary celebrations of the late Indramani Badoni, who is the main face of the Uttarakhand movement.

In the program, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi expressed gratitude to the CM for making Mussoorie tehsil and presented various demands of Mussoorie to the Chief Minister. State agitators and large number of local residents attended the program including Municipality Meera Sakalani, status holder Subhash Barathwal, former MLA Jot Singh Gunsola, former Municipality Manmohan Malla.
