Mining Projects 2025: Mineral revenue in Chhattisgarh reached ₹ 15,000 crore in 2024-25, which is 34%higher than the previous year. Limestone, iron ore, lithium and rare soil were discussed at the 25th Geological Program Board meeting held in Raipur.

Raipur News: The 25th meeting as the silver festival of the state level geological program Board Chhattisgarh was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of P. Dayanand, Secretary, Chhattisgarh Government, Mineral Resources Department and Chairman Chhattisgarh Geological Program Board at New Circuit House on Civil Line. Representatives of Rajat Bansal, Director Ghumiki and Money and Central Government and various departments, undertakings were also present in the meeting. The main objective of the meeting was to create better use of mineral resources in the state, to prepare the outline of new mining projects and review the achievements of last year.

Get about 15 thousand crore rupees as mineral revenue

The meeting presented a detailed description of the mining works completed during the year 2024-25 and the achievements made from them. During the review, the fact came out that in the last financial year, the state has received about 15 thousand crores as mineral revenue. This achievement is about 34 percent higher than the year 2023-24. This growth has not only strengthened the state’s economic structure, but has also opened new investment and opportunities in the mining sector. The geological works done in the year 2024-25 were reviewed by the departments and institutions of the Government of India and the State Government working in the area of ​​mineral exploration and mineral exploitation in the state of Chhattisgarh. During the review, where the achievements of edited works of the year 2024-25 were discussed, the proposed geological functions were finalized in the year 2025-26 for the discovery of minerals found in the state.

Chief Minister’s Secretary P. Dayanand said

Minerals are the backbone of all -round development of any state and country. The discovery of strategic and critical mineral in the state indicates the introduction of a new era of development in the state. He said that for the establishment of new industries based minerals in Chhattisgarh, various minerals present in the state should be investigated in a continuous and systematic manner. All departments and institutions related to the investigation works present in the meeting were urged to investigate important minerals found in the state using their skills, resources and latest technology for the overall development of Chhattisgarh. Dayanand, Secretary to the Chief Minister and Mineral Secretary Dayanand, advised to share and coordinate the data produced between agencies working for the development of minerals in Chhattisgarh.

Information given in the work done in 2024-25

Giving information about the works done in the regional session 2024-25 by the Director Geology and Minean Chhattisgarh Rajat Bansal, it was informed that about 2500 million tonnes of lime and about 93 million tonnes of iron ore were assessed in the year 2024-25. Important and strategic minerals have been included by the department in the exploration projects of the upcoming regional session 2025-26. The project will be a decisive step towards the country required mineral resources. It will empower the self -reliant India mission and encourage continuous and self -sufficient development in strategic fields. He said that the Chhattisgarh government is committed to providing full support to scientific and detailed mineral exploration and development.

Approval of these projects received

The Ministry of Mines, Government of India has received approval for 01 for the lime and 01 for bauxite in the year 2024-25 under NMET in Chhattisgarh. Two proposals were approved for the state’s investigation work under NMET to the notified private investigation institute. Which includes proposals of one lithium, neobium, tentalum, tetanium rare soil metals and an iron ignition. Important steps have been taken by the department to strengthen exploration and strengthening of mineral resources by promoting cooperation with private institutions.

Work on 29 projects of various minerals

Representatives of various departments, undertakings of the Central Government and the state government also presented information about the mineral investigation work done in the state of Chhattisgarh. First of all, Dr. Amit Dharwarkar, Deputy Director General of the Department of Geological Survey of India, was told that survey work has been done for bauxite, gold, glucicenite, lithium, tetanium rare soil metals, phosphorite, fluorite, lead and zinc minerals in various districts of Chhattisgarh. In the year 2025-26, work is being taken on a total of 29 projects of various minerals. A total of 11 investigation projects were approved by the Directorate of Geology and Money, Chhattisgarh in the year 2025-26 for survey / pre-preservation work. Which includes 02 projects on strategic and curiosity minerals, 02 on glucicite, 01 on lapidolite, 02 on lime, 02 on iron ore and 02 on bauxite. On this occasion, Regional Controller of IBM Raipur Prem Prakash, Regional Mining Geologist D. Das, Deputy Director General of GSI Raipur Amit A Dharwadkar, regional director of Central Region of AMD S.R. NMD including Manthanwar C., CIL, Vedanta, UltraTech, Deccan Gold officials and other concerned department officials were present.
