Trailer: Crime Meets Comedy in Baa Baa Black Sheep

The trailer of Baa Baa Black Sheep, an upcoming new-age crime comedy, was launched at a grand event recently.

Presented by Donepudi Chakrapani and produced by Venu Donepudi under the Chitralayam Studios banner, the film is directed by debutant Guni Manchikanti and is set for a theatrical release on October 9.

The film stars Tinnu Anand, Upendra Limaye, George Maryan, Akshay Lagusani, Vishnu Oy, Karthikeya, Vismaya Sri, Malvi Malhotra, Samriddhi, Kashyap, Raja Ravindra and others.

Speaking at the trailer launch, National Award-winning actor Upendra Limaye said the film’s story impressed him with its unique concept.

He also described this as his first full-fledged Telugu role and said he had a memorable experience working with the young team. He added that the film is not only special to him but also praised director Guni’s approach to storytelling.

Actor Vishnu Oy said he thoroughly enjoyed the story when he first heard it and called working with Upendra Limaye a great learning experience. He also praised Akshay Lagusani’s performance and the visuals captured by cinematographer Ajay.

Actress Malvi Malhotra revealed that her character Rama has grey shades and said audiences will get a surprise when they watch the film. She also highlighted the breathtaking locations in Meghalaya, where the movie was shot extensively.

Actress Samriddhi Aryaal, who is making her Telugu debut, said learning and delivering Telugu dialogues was challenging initially. She thanked the entire team for making her feel comfortable throughout the shoot.

Actor Akshay Lagusani thanked Nag Ashwin for launching the trailer and said the team faced several challenges while shooting in Meghalaya. He also appreciated producer Venu Donepudi for personally standing by the team throughout the production.

Producer Venu Donepudi thanked the entire cast and crew for their dedication and said the team was confident about the film despite the competition from big releases.

“Although other big films are releasing around the same time, we have seen several instances where small films with strong content have created wonders even amid such competition. We strongly believe our film will also achieve such success,” he said.

Venu Donepudi also thanked Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and the local administration for their support during the shoot. He revealed that the team is planning a special contest through which winners will get an opportunity to visit Meghalaya without spending their own money.

Director Guni Manchikanti thanked producer Venu Donepudi for believing in his story after just one narration. He revealed that the team completed pre-production within three months and shot the film in Meghalaya for around 28 days.

“This is not a routine hero-heroine-villain story. Every character in the film is extremely important,” Guni said, adding that Baa Baa Black Sheep is a clean entertainer that can be enjoyed by the entire family.

Baa Baa Black Sheep is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on October 9.
