Four people of the same family, including a jeweler, died in a fire in a house in Godhra. It is feared that all of them died due to suffocation. The cause of the fire has not been known yet.
Gandhinagar: Four people of a family died in a house fire in Godhra, Gujarat. The dead include Kamal Doshi (50), owner of Vardhaman Jewelers in Godhra, his wife Deval (45) and their sons Dev (24) and Raj (22). The accident happened when the family was preparing to go to Vapi for Dev’s engagement. The cause of the fire has not been known yet. It is believed that the family was sleeping when the house caught fire.
At the time of the accident, all the windows and doors of the house were closed, due to which the entire house was filled with smoke. Fire Officer Mukesh Ahir said that it is believed that all four died due to suffocation. Seeing the fire and smoke coming from the house, the neighbors were the first to start the rescue work. They broke the windows of the house to let out the smoke. Meanwhile, they found all four people in an unconscious state in a room on the upper floor of the house. Later on investigation, all four were confirmed dead. The bodies have been sent to the hospital for postmortem. The reason for the fire is not clear yet.
