A tragic incident occurred on the sets of the highly anticipated film Kantara 2, as a junior artist, identified as Nikhil Kumar, reportedly drowned.
The incident took place during the film’s shoot in the coastal area of Tattihallia, Karnataka. According to reports, the unit was filming near a pond when the unfortunate event unfolded.
Nikhil Kumar, who had been brought in as a background actor for the day’s shoot, is believed to have gone into the water and drowned. The production team and local authorities immediately halted filming and attempted to locate him. Despite their efforts, he could not be saved. His body was recovered shortly afterward.
Rishab Shetty, the lead actor and director of the film, was reportedly present on the set when the incident happened. While he has yet to release a personal statement, the production team expressed their condolences and said they are cooperating fully with the investigation.
