Bengaluru: Cases of breaking traffic rules are increasing in the capital. It is a matter of concern that on an average more than 21 thousand cases are being registered every day. On one hand, the police is running various types of awareness campaigns regarding traffic rules, while on the other hand, cases of breaking traffic rules are increasing rapidly in the city, which is surprising. Police say that 68 lakh cases of traffic rule violations were registered in 11 months last year.

Police have imposed fines on traffic rules violations like use of mobile while driving, no-parking, driving without helmet, driving in one-way, drunk driving, use of bright lights (LED) and signal jumping.
Chalukya, Shivananda Circle, Silk Board, Anil Kumble Circle, Hudson Circle, M.G. Police have installed Artificial Intelligence (AI) cameras at main junctions of the city, including Road and Bellandur, to keep an eye on rule breakers. Officials say that due to this strictness, higher fines are being imposed on those who break the rules.
Till November last year, 69,88,400 cases were registered, which means an average of 21 thousand cases were reported every day in 11 months. This revealed that every minute 14 people broke traffic rules. It is also worth noting that 80% of these cases have been recorded with the help of AI cameras.
Driving without helmet: 20,33,259 cases!
Police makes two-wheeler riders aware about the importance of helmet, but people are still not being alert. Last year, 20,33,259 cases were registered against bike riders and 11,27,924 cases were registered against pillion riders for not wearing helmets. Officials said that 11,16,278 cases were registered for parking vehicles in no-parking zones.
