Toyota Glanza Facelift Launch on October 14: Could Get Baleno-Like Updates

Toyota Kirloskar Motor is reportedly planning to launch the new version of Glanza in India on October 14. The high-end hatchback will share its chassis with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and it will have a facelifted version like its  sibling that has recently got a facelift. The official launch date of the new model has not been announced by Toyota Kirloskar Motor yet. But, it has already started approaching the media about a new model.

Toyota Glanza Facelift: New Engine Expected

Some of the major changes could possibly be carried out in the powertrain department. It has been forecasted that the facelifted version of Glanza will be equipped with the updated 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine in lieu of the old 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z-Series engine from Suzuki. The main objectives for which the new powertrain is being upgraded are improved fuel efficiency and increased acceleration at low speed. The old transmission options such as 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT would remain unchanged.

Toyota Glanza Facelift: Expected Exterior Updates

There is less possibility of a radical redesign of the Glanza. However, Toyota can make a few design changes to the model with the influence of the Baleno updates. For example, there can be a new design of the front grille which will feature specific elements of the Toyota design language as well as new alloy wheels and more paint shades for the exterior. Nevertheless, the silhouette of the hatchback will remain unchanged. It means that the shape of the headlamps and tail lamps can stay as they are now.

Toyota Glanza Facelift: Expected Features and Safety Updates

Toyota is unlikely to totally change the interior design but might make some improvements with the new version. These may include Level 2 ADAS capability, tire pressure monitor system, and 6 airbags across all variants.
