Toyota is preparing to introduce the heavily updated hatchback to the domestic market, following the recent rollout of its corporate sibling. The upcoming vehicle is officially scheduled to be launched on October 14, 2026, bringing a refreshed exterior design, upgraded interior features, and a brand-new powertrain. It is positioned to compete directly against established models like the Hyundai i20 and the Tata Altroz.
As per a by Carlelo, the hatchback retains its familiar silhouette while introducing distinct visual modifications to the front and rear fascias. Exterior updates include a restyled V-shaped chrome front grille, reprofiled lower air intakes, a sportier front bumper, 16-inch alloy wheels, and updated C-shaped LED tail-lamps.

Inside the cabin, the layout remains practical while incorporating major technological additions to enhance user comfort and connectivity. Key amenities include a 9-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging with active cooling, and a convenient heads-up display.
For occupant protection, the vehicle is equipped with a 360-degree surround-view camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, six airbags, anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, and electronic stability program. The top-spec trim further integrates Level 2 ADAS capabilities, featuring adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, and forward collision warning.

Under the bonnet, the hatchback drops its older four-cylinder motor in favour of a modern 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, Z-Series naturally-aspirated petrol engine coupled with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. This configuration generates an output of 81bhp and 112.4Nm of torque. Additionally, a factory-fitted CNG variant delivers 70bhp and 102Nm of torque paired exclusively with a 5-speed manual transmission. Fuel efficiency figures exceed 24 kmpl for the petrol variants and 33 km/kg when running on CNG mode.

Pricing for the refreshed hatchback is expected to carry a slight premium over the outgoing model range, which spans from USD 8,100 to USD 12,000 (approx. INR 6.73 lakh to INR 9.99 lakh ex-showroom).
