The new Toyota Fortuner may arrive by 2026-27. It will have features like Hilux like new design, 12.3 inch screen and sunroof. Apart from the existing petrol-diesel engine, there will also be an option of 2.8L mild-hybrid.

One of India’s most popular SUVs, the Toyota Fortuner, is now entering its third generation. This time major changes are being made in the vehicle, everything from design to features will be upgraded. Testing of the new model has also started. It is expected that it can be launched in late 2026 or early 2027. Some information about its design and features has been revealed from leaked pictures and media reports. New design and styling

Leaked pictures show that the basic structure of the new Fortuner will remain the same, but its front end will be wider than before and the bonnet will also be flatter. Its design has been taken from the new generation Hilux sold in the global market, which will also be launched in India.

A large grille, slightly downwards-mounted headlights, new fog lamps and thin LED DRLs can be seen at the front of the vehicle. The design of the bumper will also be new. Although, not much is known about the design of its rear part, but it is expected that it will be given thin wrap-around tail lamps and a newly designed bumper.

luxurious interior

Pictures inside the vehicle have not been revealed yet. But it is believed that the interior of the new Toyota Fortuner will also be similar to the new Hilux. It can get a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a full digital driver display. Apart from this, features like wireless phone charging, 360-degree camera, sunroof, and ventilated and power-adjustable front seats can also be provided.

Engine and Performance

It is expected that the current 2.7-litre petrol and 2.8-litre diesel engine options will remain in the 2026 Toyota Fortuner. Its petrol engine generates power of 164 bhp and torque of 245 Nm. Whereas, the diesel engine produces power of 201 bhp and torque ranging from 420 Nm (manual) to 500 Nm (automatic).

Apart from this, the Fortuner Neo Drive model will also get a 2.8-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel mild-hybrid powertrain. This engine will come with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission like the current model.
