Toxic OTT deal: Another huge blow to Yash and team?

Before the release of Toxic, major OTT platforms reportedly offered a massive Rs. 150 crore for the gangster action drama, but Yash turned them down, expecting a much bigger sum.

The movie arrived in theatres without locking its OTT deal, and upon release, it faced outright rejection from the audience. As the biggie instantly became a box office washout, many OTTs reportedly backed out.

Later, ZEE5 is said to have offered Rs. 30 crore for the digital rights, but this came as a shock to the entire team. If that wasn’t enough, the latest buzz suggests that the OTT platform has set a condition to pay only half the amount upfront, with the remaining amount tied to a pay-per-view model.

For a movie made on a massive budget, not closing the OTT deal before the theatrical release isn’t an ideal move. Delaying the deal now seems to have resulted in a massive loss.
