Actor Yash, who attended San Diego Comic-Con 2026 to promote his upcoming mythological epic Ramayana, also spoke about his other highly anticipated film, Toxic, scheduled to release in theatres on August 26. Calling Toxic a “wild” and “unapologetic” film, the actor said audiences would walk out of theatres wondering, “What the hell was that?”
In an interview with JoBlo.com, said may appear to be a on the surface, but insisted that it is driven by strong emotions.
“I know this is a movie that will blow everybody’s mind. It’s like a roller-coaster ride – it’s wild, unapologetic. But, at the same time, it’s very deep as well. It may come across as something larger than life – that’s there. That’s the texture of the film. But, deep inside, it’s a deep and emotional film. Anybody who is going to walk into theatres will get their mind blown while walking out. And they’re going to go, ‘What the hell was that?'” he said.
Yash also spoke about filming the , revealing that action films have always excited him.
“I love action. I am a fan of action movies and whenever there’s action, the kid in me is excited. I’ll be watching the monitor as I am watching the movie. [Action choreographer] JJ (Perry) did a great job and on this 26th, we’re releasing Toxic, and you’ll see what kind of action we have done,” he said.
The actor credited Hollywood stunt coordinator JJ Perry, known for films such as John Wick, for elevating the film’s action. However, he stressed that the set pieces were designed to serve the story rather than exist purely for spectacle.
“I get inspired by the kind of action I see in some of the films that JJ has worked on, like John Wick and many others. We’ve tried to get the best quality action in this, and it’s not action without a reason. The emotion behind the action is important. I think they’ve got that right in Toxic and even in Ramayana,” he added.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic is scheduled to .The film boasts a star-studded cast including Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and Huma Qureshi. Yash was at San Diego Comic-Con to unveil Ramayana, in which he essays Ravana alongside Ranbir Kapoor’s Lord Ram.
