Delhi-NCR Flood: The water level of Yamuna river in Delhi is rising rapidly and now it has reached above 207 meters. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are likely to continue in Delhi till the 5th.

Yamuna Flood Alert: Due to continuous heavy rains in Delhi, the water level of Yamuna river is rising rapidly and flood -like conditions have been created in many places. The lower areas are submerged in water. Vasudev Ghats near Yamuna Bazar, Nigam Bodh Ghat, Old Osmanpur village and ISBT have been submerged in water. Yamuna water has also spread in the monastery market. In other parts of NCR, the condition is deteriorating due to rain. In Ghaziabad, Noida and Gurugram, people had to face long traffic jams due to filling water on the roads.

Yamuna water level above the danger mark

On Tuesday, the water level of Yamuna crossed the danger mark after releasing 3.29 lakh cusecs of water from Hathni Kund Barrage in Haryana. The danger mark is 205.33 meters, while the water level of Yamuna has reached 207 meters by 1 pm on Wednesday. According to the Meteorological Department, light to heavy rains are likely to continue in Delhi till 5th. The water level of Yamuna river in the capital has now reached above 207 meters, which is 2 meters more than the danger mark.

People were sent to safe places

Due to the rising water level of Yamuna, the lower areas are drowning in water and the people living there are being sent to safe places. NDRF teams have been deployed in many areas. The water of Yamuna has reached the historic iron bridge and the river water is also flowing inside the bridge. Flood water has also spread in the area around the corporation Bodh Ghat. The administration has warned people not to be safe and unnecessarily not out of homes.
