A top Tollywood star and a blockbuster director have joined hands for one of the most anticipated films in recent times.
However, what was expected to be a dream collaboration has reportedly turned into a challenging journey because of major creative differences between the two.
The primary issue is said to be the film’s visual treatment. The hero reportedly wanted the film to move away from the director’s trademark “dark mode” style and adopt a fresher, more vibrant presentation. The director, however, was not fully convinced.
Although the shoot began and an initial schedule was completed according to the hero’s preference, the director reportedly remained dissatisfied with the footage.
Feeling that the output did not match his vision, he decided to restart the project and reshoot significant portions from the beginning.
This decision has reportedly affected the hero’s morale. Repeating the same sequences has left the star frustrated, as the production has effectively gone back to square one. Since then, there has reportedly been some distance between the hero and the director.
Creative disagreements are common in filmmaking, but insiders say the differences in this case are unusually intense. The atmosphere between the actor and the director is said to be tense, with both standing firm on their respective creative approaches.
Although the shoot is progressing, the project is reportedly moving at a painfully slow pace—“one step forward and four steps back”.
Unless both sides arrive at a common creative vision, the film may continue to face delays despite being actively under production.
