After taking a look at the  ,let us now take a look at the top 10 scooters in May 2026. India’s scooter market registered strong growth in May 2026, with the top 10 scooters collectively accounting for 6,41,680 units. This was an increase of 23.06% over 5,21,433 units sold in May 2025, resulting in a volume gain of more than 1.2 lakh units.

Honda Activa remained India’s best-selling scooter with sales of 2,28,955 units in May 2026. Compared to 1,90,713 units sold in May 2025, Activa registered a growth of 20.05%, gaining 38,242 units. TVS Jupiter retained second position with sales of 1,24,767 units. The scooter posted a strong 27.83% year-on-year growth over 97,606 units sold in May last year, adding 27,161 units. Combined, Activa and Jupiter contributed 3,53,722 units, accounting for over 55% of the total sales generated by the top 10 scooters.

Suzuki Access continued to be the third best-selling scooter in the country with sales of 75,729 units. Volumes remained largely flat when compared to 75,778 units sold a year ago, registering a marginal decline of 0.06%. TVS iQube emerged as one of the fastest-growing models in the list. Sales increased by 52.64% to 42,192 units from 27,642 units in May 2025. The electric scooter secured a 6.58% share of total sales.

Bajaj Chetak followed closely with sales of 38,376 units, up 50.26% from 25,540 units sold a year ago. Chetak accounted for 5.98% of total scooter sales. TVS Ntorq recorded sales of 34,127 units in May 2026, registering a growth of 35.40% over 25,205 units sold in the corresponding month last year.

Hero Destini 125 was among the standout performers. Sales surged 76.34% to 26,482 units from 15,018 units sold in May 2025, representing the highest growth rate among ICE scooters in the top 10 list. Suzuki Burgman Street reported sales of 25,835 units, improving by 4.65% over 24,688 units sold a year ago.

Honda Dio was one of only two scooters in the top 10 to report a year-on-year decline. Sales dropped 9.18% to 23,814 units from 26,220 units sold in May 2025. Yamaha RayZR rounded off the top 10 list with sales of 21,403 units. The scooter posted a strong growth of 64.35%, up from 13,023 units sold during the same month last year.

Top 5 Electric Scooters May 2026

Electric scooters continued their strong growth trajectory in May 2026, with the top five models collectively recording sales of 1,36,639 units, up 48.45% from 92,044 units sold in May 2025. TVS iQube retained its leadership position with 42,192 units, registering a growth of 52.64% and accounting for 30.88% of total e-scooter sales. Bajaj Chetak followed closely with 38,376 units, up 50.26% YoY and capturing a 28.09% market share.

Ather Rizta emerged as one of the fastest-growing electric scooters, posting sales of 20,800 units, an increase of 80.34% over the previous year. Hero Vida registered the highest growth among the top five at 140.76%, with sales rising to 20,130 units. In contrast, Ola Electric reported sales of 15,141 units, down 20.17% from 18,967 units sold a year ago.
