Tinaa Dattaa remembers late pet Bruno: ‘I had no idea my entire world would change forever’

Television actress Tinaa Dattaa has shared an emotional tribute to her late pet dog Bruno, recalling the final moments she spent with him and revealing that a photograph she recently posted was taken just a day before his death.

The ‘Uttaran’ actress said she had no idea that the seemingly ordinary day would become one of the last memories she had with Bruno, who was an important part of her life for more than 12 years.

Sharing the photograph, Tinaa wrote, “This was taken just a day before I lost him. Little did I know that in just a few hours, my entire world would change forever.”

She said that had she known what was to come, she would have cancelled her plans, stayed with Bruno and spent more time holding and comforting him.

Tinaa also recalled Bruno’s fondness for being photographed, saying he would happily pose for the camera and appeared to enjoy the attention.

“Look at how happily he was posing for the camera. He always loved being clicked. The camera adored him, and he adored it right back,” she wrote, adding that she now looks at those photographs as memories of his final photoshoot with her.

The actress said she had an inexplicable feeling that day and kept taking more pictures of Bruno. She now finds those photographs especially precious because they are among the memories she has left of him.

Recalling their bond, Tinaa said Bruno found immense comfort in being held in her arms. She described how he would close his eyes and remain still whenever she hugged him, adding that what he wanted most was simply to be close to her.

Tinaa also remembered singing “You Are My Sunshine” to Bruno while holding him, saying he would soon fall asleep feeling safe and loved.

“People say dogs don’t speak. Mine never needed words. His eyes told me everything. His silence spoke louder than anything ever could,” she wrote.

Bruno died on June 10 after being a cherished companion to Tinaa for 12-and-a-half years. The actress had previously described him as her “first child” and said he was at the centre of her world.

Tinaa had also spoken about how caring for Bruno helped her understand the emotions and responsibilities associated with motherhood.
