Raashii Khanna completes 13 years in the Indian film industry today. Her debut film, Madras Cafe, released on this date in 2013, an action thriller that introduced her as an actress worth watching. The years since have taken her across four industries and into some of the most closely followed titles in the country.
“Thirteen years is a long time, and it has gone quickly because the work has never stopped feeling like a privilege,” says Raashii Khanna. “Looking back at Madras Cafe reminds me why I started. It gave me the chance to tell stories that matter to me, and I am grateful to every collaborator who has backed me along the way.”
Building A Pan-India Presence
Since that debut, Khanna has built a body of work across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema, one of the few actors of her generation to hold ground in all four. The range has been deliberate rather than accidental, and it is what has taken her from a promising first outing to a pan-India presence.
Returning As Megha Vyas In Farzi Season 2
She is currently filming the second season of Raj & DK’s Farzi, returning as RBI officer Megha Vyas alongside Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi. Produced and directed by Raj & DK, Farzi is a crime thriller built around a disillusioned artist who turns to counterfeiting to escape his financial situation.
Upcoming Projects With Rajinikanth And Akshay Kumar
Khanna will also be seen opposite Rajinikanth in the Tamil action thriller Dharman, and opposite Akshay Kumar in Anees Bazmee’s next comedy drama.
