The long controversy over Tiktok between the US and China is going to be resolved soon. On Monday, the US government said that due to the hard work and pressure of President Donald Trump, both countries have agreed to continue Tiktok in America. According to media reports, Treasury Secretary Scott Besant said that this deal has been fixed in Madrid, Spain. Now it will be finalized in the meeting of Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday. Besant clarified that the security of America has been taken care of in this deal and it is correct and equitable for both countries.

Why was there a dispute?
The dispute began due to the law, which was created by the former President Joe Biden. Under this law, if an app is with a Chinese company, it can be closed in America. On this basis, the US legally banned the famous ticket -lock app of Chinese company bytedens on 19 January 2025. However, this app is currently operating in the US and the ban has not been implemented yet. But a few months ago, the demand for a completely ban on tickets was intensified. After this, it was said that to continue working in America, an American person would have to sell it to the company, otherwise the app will be banned. After this, President Trump extended the date of the ban thrice. Now the last date was kept on 17 September, but before that the deal is coming out.
Tiktok helped Trump
When Trump became the President of America for the first time, he wanted to ban Tiktok, but he could not do so. Biden later legalized the matter. As the 2024 elections came close, Trump changed his thinking. He admitted that Tiktok has helped in his election campaign, so now he adopted a soft attitude on it. During the election campaign, Trump had said that he would save Tiktok from being banned.
Last month also Trump had said that American customers are engaged in line to buy Tiktok and they can increase the deadline. But now in his latest statement, he looked a little unclear on this matter. Talking to reporters in New Jersey, Trump said, “I can carry forward the deadline or not… We are talking about Tiktok. We can let it closure… I don’t know. It depends on China. It doesn’t matter. I would like to save it for children because they like it.”
