Tiger Shroff Firing Case: Four Accused Remanded to Police Custody Till October 28

Mumbai (Maharashtra): In a significant development in the Tiger Shroff firing case, the Esplanade Court in Mumbai has remanded four accused individuals – Kunal, Sumit, Radha, and Babita – to police custody until October 28.

This marks their second appearance before the court, following an initial three-day transit remand during which they underwent extensive interrogation.

Defence lawyer Ajinkya Mirgal Madhukar argued against further custody, stating that essential items like mobile phones, SIM cards, and bank debit cards had already been recovered. He questioned the necessity of extended police remand, especially since the police initially sought custody until October 31. The court, however, granted remand specifically for collecting voice samples, a crucial step in the ongoing investigation.

Advocate Vikesh Mehra, representing accused Sumit, highlighted that while the police requested an additional four days, the court approved only two days for voice sample collection. Police allege Sumit accompanied Kunal to Amritsar to procure weapons, but Mehra pointed out the lack of concrete evidence regarding actual weapon procurement.

Previously, on October 23, the court had remanded three other accused – Ankit Khattar, Samir Khatri, and Jatin Panchal – to police custody until October 28. These individuals were apprehended from Sonipat, Haryana. The prosecution had sought extended remand, arguing that several wanted individuals linked to the case are outside Maharashtra, necessitating inter-state investigation. They also presented CCTV footage from the incident site and a hotel where a practice firing session allegedly occurred. The case involves a shooting incident on October 18 in Juhu, where actor Tiger Shroff was leaving a football club, escaping unhurt while his driver sustained injuries.
