Actor Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt after three bike-borne assailants allegedly opened fire at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening. His driver, however, was injured in the attack.
The incident reportedly took place when Tiger was leaving a football ground.
Soon after the firing, a video surfaced in which a man identifying himself as Anil Pandit and claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang said Tiger Shroff was on their “hit list”.
In the video, the man allegedly claimed that Tiger had “not been heeding our directions” and was “working with Salman Khan”.
Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently lodged in a Gujarat jail, has repeatedly issued threats against Salman Khan in the past.
Tiger Shroff and Salman Khan have not appeared together in a full-length feature film, but the two share several connections within the film industry.
Salman Khan is also reported to have played a role in helping Tiger enter Bollywood by advising producer Sajid Nadiadwala to launch him.
Tiger’s father, Jackie Shroff, has worked with Salman Khan in several major films. Tiger and Salman have also shared public stages and have often expressed admiration for each other’s fitness, discipline and commitment to action cinema.
