THRISSUR — In a disturbing case that has shocked Kerala, Aneesha, a young mother from Puthukkad, has confessed to brutally murdering her two newborn children , with the complicity of her partner Bavin , following over 12 hours of interrogation by the police.
The horrifying revelation unfolded on Sunday after Bavin voluntarily walked into the Puthukkad Police Station at 12:30 am, carrying the skeletal remains of the children in a bag. His confession led to a swift and intense investigation, which confirmed the murders and resulted in the arrests of both Aneesha and Bavin.
November 6, 2021: Aneesha gave birth to a baby boy and allegedly killed him shortly after birth. She buried the body in her yard.
Eight months later: She exhumed the remains and handed them to Bavin.
August 29, 2024: She gave birth again and murdered the second infant, later delivering the body to Bavin, who buried it in a plantation behind his house.
Police investigations have found that Bavin manipulated Aneesha, persuading her that the bones were being preserved for funeral rites. However, his true intention was control and blackmail, particularly when Aneesha attempted to distance herself from the relationship.
The two had met through Facebook in 2020 and were in a non-marital relationship for over five years. According to police, Bavin’s confession was the turning point in unraveling the case. Following his disclosure, Aneesha was taken into custody and interrogated in the presence of senior officers, including Thrissur Rural SP B Krishnakumar and DySP Biju Kumar.
SP Krishnakumar noted that several suspicious circumstances surrounding the case are still under scrutiny. The investigation, led by SHO Mahendra Simhan, will now be supported by scientific and forensic analysis to build a watertight case.
