Different types of vegetables, rice and rotis are prepared at home every day. In such a situation, if some of it is left, then most of the people reheat it and eat it the next time. But doing so is considered harmful for health. Many people heat their dinner the next day in the afternoon or night or take it for office lunch, so that they can save time. But doing so not only spoils the taste of that food, but also causes deficiency of nutrients in it, along with this, eating some foods in this way is more dangerous.
Even during the winter season, people prepare vegetables and some other things and reheat them and eat them the next day. But in this season, there are some things which, if reheated and eaten, can cause great harm to health. Let us know about which foods which are eaten extensively in winter should not be reheated.
Dr. Rohit Sharma, Internal Medicine Consultant at Apollo Spectra Hospital, said that in winter many people reheat vegetables, soup, pulses or rice and eat them again and again, but this habit can prove to be very dangerous for health. In cold weather, food gets cooled quickly, due to which the risk of bacteria and fungus growing in it increases. In such a situation, when we reheat these foods and eat them. So the natural balance of proteins, vitamins and minerals present in them gets disturbed. Especially in things like rice, potatoes, mushrooms, chicken and eggs, a bacteria called Bacillus cereus can grow, which can cause digestive problems such as stomach ache, vomiting, food poisoning and diarrhea.

Due to reheating many times, the fats present in oil and spices can get oxidized and cause toxins in the body, which can affect the liver and cause swelling. In winter, only that much food should be prepared which can be eaten at one go. If leftover food is to be eaten again, keep it in the refrigerator immediately and should not be left at room temperature for more than two hours.

Children, elderly people and people who fall seriously ill should avoid giving reheated food. Because their immunity is weak and the risk of infection may increase. Therefore, try to cook food as per the needs and number of members present in your house and do not reheat and eat it. You should do this not only in winter but in every season.
