The Garh Ganesh Temple was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur. It is said that when the foundation of Jaipur city was being laid, then on the basis of astrological calculations, he established Ganesh ji here. This temple is considered about 300 years old and it is believed that the nature of Ganesha is in the same form as Goddess Parvati gave birth to him- that is, without a trunk.
