Rajasthan Education Department News: A case of shaking of education system has come out from Baran district. A teacher couple posted at Rajpur Primary School here are accused of teaching children from dummy teachers instead of teaching themselves in the classroom for the last two decades and kept taking fat salary from the government. Now the Education Department has issued a major action on this negligence and corruption and issued a notice of recovery of about Rs 9.30 crore from both.
Action under the PDR Act, District Education Officer Sitaram Goyal said that in view of the seriousness of the case, the recovery process is being done under the PDR Act. The department sent notices several times, but now a public notice had to be issued by the accused couple for not depositing the amount.
Accused teacher Vishnu Garg received salary from 1997-98 to 2023-24, with about 84.72 lakh salary and 4.07 crore interest, a recovery of about 4.92 crore has been fixed. At the same time, his wife Manju Garg took salary from 1999-2000 to 2023-24, including 82.48 lakh salary and 3.56 crore interest. Thus, a recovery of Rs 4.38 crore will be made on them. A total of Rs 9.30 crore will be recovered from both.
The matter was revealed in the police investigation when the police raided the school. There were three dummy teachers teaching there. During interrogation, it was revealed that these people were working here for five years and they were given 4 to 7 thousand rupees monthly. After this revelation, the Education Department also started investigation and suspended the teacher couple.
Three officers also surrounded not only the teacher couple, but also on departmental negligence. Action has also been taken against the then CBEO, PO and a school teacher on the instructions of Education Minister Madan Dilawar.
Education system in the circle of questions is a big example of how the lack of monitoring is hollowing out the government education system. Taking salary without teaching for years is not only corruption, but also playing with the future of children.
