New Delhi: People have become angry on social media after the video of theft of passengers from vendors selling goods inside the train surfaced. These videos have sparked a heated debate about ‘civic sense’ and our responsibilities in public places. In a video, it is seen that passengers sitting on the upper berth of the train, cleverly steal a packet of biryani from the basket of a vendor passing below. After this, he is also seen eating it without any shame.
This video is going viral with the caption, “The civic sense of Indians has failed to improve. A man was selling egg biryani in the train. Then a person sitting above stole a box of egg biryani. Later he ate the stolen biryani with great pleasure.” In another video, a passenger sitting on the upper berth of a sleeper coach quickly picks up snacks and water bottles as the vendor passes by. People are commenting on this that this is not because of poverty, but rather a shameless act.

People are venting their anger on social media over such acts of cheating these small vendors who work hard for their livelihood. One user wrote, “We are becoming a society that cannot be trusted.” Many people have commented below the video demanding that these culprits be found and arrested immediately. Many people have raised this demand by tagging the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Railway Ministry.
One user wrote, “If food is within arm’s reach, it doesn’t mean you should steal it. Such thieves should be thrown out of the train and put in jail for at least a month.” According to reports, after the video surfaced, railway officials have started investigating the matter.
