This Pakistani player stood up against PCB, raised his voice against the punishment

Pakistan Super League 2026: A new episode of controversy has emerged in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026. Lahore Qalandars’ experienced batsman Fakhar Zaman was accused of ball tampering, after which the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) suspended him for two matches. Now Fakhar has appealed against this decision.

Fakhar Zaman took a big step

The incident took place in the match played between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday. Lahore team had lost by four wickets. At the beginning of the last over of the match, Fakhar was seen doing something with the ball in the camera. On which the field umpire got suspicious, he asked for the ball and after a long discussion, Lahore team was given a penalty of 5 runs and the ball was changed.

After this the PCB found Fakhar Zaman guilty of Level-III violation. This violation is related to Section 41.3 of the PSL Playing Conditions, in which changing the position of the ball is prohibited. Match referee Roshan Mahanama gave this decision after the hearing. A two-match ban is the biggest punishment given for a first such offence. But Fakhar Zaman has denied the allegation. He has also challenged this in the hearing. Now he has filed an appeal with the PSL Technical Committee. According to sources, this appeal has been made only a day after the PCB’s decision.

Fakhar Zaman will not be able to play these two matches

Due to this suspension, Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of Lahore Qalandars’ next two matches, one against Multan Sultans on 3 April at Gaddafi Stadium and the other against Islamabad United on 9 April in Karachi. Which is a big blow for the team, because he is one of the most important batsmen of the team.
