Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025: Some amazing innings were seen on the first day of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the biggest feat of which was done by Gujarat captain Urvil Patel. This right-handed batsman scored a century in just 31 balls. In this match being played at the Gymkhana Ground in Hyderabad, the Army team, batting first, scored 182 runs in 20 overs. In reply, Gujarat’s opener Arya Desai and captain Urvil Patel wreaked havoc. These two batsmen gave Gujarat a one-sided victory by adding 174 runs in 70 balls.
Urvil Patel’s century
Urvil Patel destroyed the army bowlers and scored unbeaten 119 runs in just 37 balls. This player hit 10 sixes, 12 fours in his innings and his strike rate was more than 321. This is his second fastest century in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, before this he had also scored a century in 28 balls. He is India’s fastest centurion in T20.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi failed
Vaibhav Suryavanshi also played a match for Bihar in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In this match against Chandigarh, Vaibhav hit two sixes on the first two balls but he was given out LBW by Sandeep Sharma on the fourth ball. After his dismissal, no player from Bihar could bat fast. Saqibul Ghani and Bipin Saurabh played innings of 36-36 runs but Bihar team could score only 157 runs. In reply, Chandigarh achieved the target by losing just 4 wickets in 18.4 overs.
These explosive batsmen also failed
Not only Vaibhav Suryavanshi, some other explosive batsmen also failed in the first match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Ayush Mhatre could score 18 runs. Prithvi Shaw scored only 5 runs. 6 runs came off the bat of Rituraj Gaikwad. Ishan Kishan could score only 27 runs and Nitish Rana could score only 1 run. Priyansh Arya played an inning of 39 runs. Ayush Badhoni scored 30 runs.
