This government company shares will rise, 2000 crore deal with Ministry of Defense

Bharat Electronics Limited

India has taken another major step to promote self -reliance in the defense sector. The Ministry of Defense (MOD) has signed an agreement of about Rs 2,000 crore with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). Under this agreement, modern air defense fire control radars will be purchased for the Indian Army. The agreement is made in the category of bye (Indian – indigenously designed, developed and manufactured), which aims to encourage the manufacture of defense equipment in the country.

The agreement was signed between MOD and senior BEL officials in the presence of Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in New Delhi on 25 July 2025. After this agreement, the Air Defense Regiment of the Indian Army will be equipped with new technology, which will increase the strength and vigilance capacity of our armies.

Made in India will be fire control radars

These fire control radars will have at least 70 percent indigenous material. This is a big thing because it will increase the use of equipment made in the country and will reduce foreign dependence. These radars will be able to recognize any air threats like enemy fighter aircraft, attack helicopter and drone quickly. This will make it easier for the army to take timely action and the security of the country will be stronger than before.

Economy will also be strong with defense sector

The Ministry of Defense says that this deal is important not only for the modernization of the army, but also for the country’s economy. Apart from public sector undertakings like BEL, many small and medium industries (MSME) are associated with this scheme. In the construction of these radars, small industries will get a chance to supply parts and raw materials. This will increase employment opportunities in the country and local companies will also get a chance to move forward.

The central government has been insisting on promoting indigenous production in the defense sector for a long time under Make in India and self -sufficient Bharat Abhiyan. Even before this, many big deals have been done to buy weapons and equipment developed in the country itself. This agreement with BEL is also considered a solid step in the same direction. This will increase the strength of the Indian Army and will give new strength to the defense preparations of the country.

Overall, this agreement is going to strengthen modern technology, self -reliance and security of the country simultaneously. In the coming time, more such steps will make the country stronger in the defense sector.
