Hrithik Roshan expressed grief over the demise of MM Baig and said that he called him his guru. Baig laid the foundation of the actor’s acting career. Hrithik wrote, “I was lost and you showed me the right path.”
Hrithik Roshan Pens Tribute Mentor MM Baig : Hrithik Roshan paid an emotional tribute to his guru MM Baig on his demise, writing: ‘I was lost and you showed me the right path.’ Remembering his guru MM Baig, Hrithik Roshan wrote, “Dearest Baig ji, the guru I needed most at the beginning of my journey as an actor was you, for this I will always be grateful to you. You gave me confidence in speaking dialogues, you played an important role in honing the actor within me.”
Hrithik Roshan expressed respect towards Baig
Hrithik wrote in his note – My dear Bagji, I will always be grateful to you for the mentor you made me at the beginning of my journey as an actor. You helped me gain confidence in speaking and performing… You played an important role in nurturing the actor within me. Along with helping me overcome my hesitation, it also empowered my emotions.
Hrithik wrote. “I was lost. And you showed me the right path. I was just 18 years old at that time. I still practice the lessons you taught me. I will miss you very much. May your soul rest in peace, my Guru.”
Hanif Zaveri, close to Baig, said that the film maker had helped Roshan a lot in the beginning of his acting career. Zaveri told PTI, “Baig Sahab and Rakesh Roshan Sahab had a good relationship. Since Baig Sahab had good knowledge of these things, he helped Hrithik Roshan with diction, voice inflections and dialogues. Baig Sahab used to help Hrithik in speaking dialogues, this was much before his first film ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ came out.”

MM Baig was found dead in his Mumbai home earlier this week. The late director also worked as an assistant director in many of Hrithik’s actor and director father Rakesh Roshan’s films like Kala Bazaar, Kishan Kanhaiya. As an independent director, he directed two films, Masoom Gawah (1990) starring Naseeruddin Shah, which is yet to be released, and Chhoti Bahu starring Shilpa Shirodkar.
