This city of UP is the coldest! IMD issued alert, asked farmers and citizens to be careful

Cold has knocked in Uttar Pradesh. The minimum temperature in Etawah dropped to 8.4°C and cold wave warning issued in many districts. Meteorological Department (IMD) said, the temperature will fall further in the next 48 hours, take measures to protect from cold.

The weather has suddenly changed in Uttar Pradesh. While till a few days ago mild cold was being felt, now the cold winds have started showing their effect. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning that the coming 48 hours can prove to be challenging for the entire state, because the temperature is going below normal and the onset of cold wave is near.

Heavy drop in temperature in UP, Etawah becomes the coldest district

In the last 24 hours, the night temperature has fallen rapidly in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. The minimum temperature in Etawah was recorded at 8.4 degrees Celsius, which is 6.3 degrees below normal. This is considered to be the biggest fall of this season so far. A significant drop in temperature was also recorded in Kanpur, Bareilly, Prayagraj and Bulandshahr.

IMD’s warning: Cold will increase further in the next 48 hours

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there will be a major change in the weather of Uttar Pradesh and North India in the next 48 hours. There may be a further drop of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the minimum temperatures over Northeast India as well as Eastern UP. There is a possibility of cold wave conditions in some parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand between November 10 and 11, which will have a direct impact on the plains of Uttar Pradesh.

Hot during the day, cold at night – two seasons together

Interestingly, despite the night temperature falling, heat is still being felt in many districts during the day. The weather remains normal in the afternoon, while cold winds in the morning and evening are increasing shivering.

IMD’s appeal: Farmers and citizens should be alert

The Meteorological Department has advised farmers and common citizens to make necessary arrangements to protect themselves from cold keeping in mind the sudden drop in temperature at night. Farmers have been advised to use irrigation and light cover to protect crops.

What will be the impact in the coming days

According to weather experts, the effect of cold wave may intensify further in Uttar Pradesh after November 11. The cold winds coming from the hilly states will further aggravate the cold in the plains. Due to this, the possibility of fog in the morning may also increase.
