Veteran actress Mumtaz revealed that she had gone to meet Dharmendra when he was hospitalized and his health was critical. But even after waiting for half an hour he did not get permission. Their last meeting was in 2021.
Veteran actress Mumtaz has revealed in a recent conversation that during Dharmendra’s last moments, she had reached the hospital to inquire about his well being. But after waiting for half an hour he had to return without meeting him. Bollywood’s He-Man Dharmendra passed away recently at the age of 89. He breathed his last on 24 November 2025 at his Juhu home and on the same day, the Deol family cremated him secretly without making any official announcement. Mumtaz, who had worked with him in films like ‘Jheel Ke Us Paar’ and ‘Loafer’, got emotional and remembered her favorite star.
Mumtaz said- I was not allowed to meet Dharmendra
Speaking to E-Times, Mumtaz said, “I went to the hospital to see him. But the staff told me that he was on ventilator and no one was allowed to meet him. I waited there for 30 minutes with the hope that I might be allowed to meet him. But I had to return without meeting him.”

In this statement, Mumtaz has proved the claims of Deol family false in which they had termed the news of Dharam Paaji being on ventilator as false. Actually, on November 10, there was news of Dharmendra being on ventilator. But the family had said that his condition was stable. Reports claim that Dharmendra was on ventilator for two days. Dharmendra, who was admitted in the hospital for almost 2 weeks, was discharged by his family on the morning of 12th November and taken home.
When did Mumtaz last meet Dharmendra?
Mumtaz, while talking to the above mentioned website, also revealed about her last meeting with Dharmendra. She said, “I met him last in 2021 when I went to his house. It was a very nice meeting.” Mumtaz further talked about Dharmendra’s wife Hema Malini and said, “I feel very sad for his (Dharmendra) family and Hema ji. She was completely devoted to him. She must have been deeply shocked. She really loved him very much.”

Mumtaz described Dharmendra as a very kind-hearted and friendly person and said that he was a legend who will always be remembered and no one can take his place.
