This 5000 year old method keeps the body cool, heat can’t even touch it!

During summer days, when the sun starts shining brightly and the humidity also increases, then to get relief from it, we adopt only normal methods. Like taking ice, ice cream, cold water, cold drinks. Apart from this, electronic equipment like fan, cooler, AC are run to keep places like home or office cool. All these things can make you feel cool from outside only for some time, but cannot keep you relaxed and cool from inside. When the body naturally remains cool from inside, it also helps you in staying healthy.

We are forgetting old things in our culture. The methods that people used in the past to keep the body cool naturally are also considered scientifically correct in today’s time. Yogacharya Umang Tyagi keeps telling about various types of eating habits to stay healthy, which probably few people know about in today’s time. He has told some 5000 year old methods which will help you stay cool in summer.

5000 year old method

Yogacharya Umang Tyagi says that three pranayams have been described in Hathayoga Pratibika 5000 years ago. Which keeps your body cool from inside. He says that in Tohat Yoga Pratibha, Acharya Swatmaram ji has described eight Kumbhakas and out of these eight Kumbhakas, three Pranayams are especially pitta-shamaka, that is, they reduce the bile in your body and increase coolness.

Shitali Pranayam

Yogacharya Umang has described Sheetali as the first pranayama to keep the body cool. To do this, you have to take out your tongue and then fold it from the middle and make it like a pipe. After this you have to inhale. After this, close the mouth by putting the tongue inside and hold for a few seconds. After this, release the breath out of the nose. You can repeat this process several times as per your capacity.

These are its benefits

Sheetali Pranayam not only calms down bile but also helps in controlling problems like fever, thirst and excessive hunger.

Another pranayama to keep the body cool is Sheetakari. People whose tongue is not able to become round like a drain can try this and it can be done with Sheetali also. In this you have to open your mouth like you laugh. Then you have to clench your teeth by placing them one above the other. After this, pull your breath inwards. After taking full breath, release it slowly through the nose.

Chandrabhedi Pranayam

To keep the body cool during summer days, you should do Chandrabhedi Pranayam. In this you have to close your right nostril with your thumb and inhale from the left. After this, the right left nostril has to be closed and the breath has to be exhaled from the right. You have to repeat this process again and again. In this you have to keep in mind that you have to inhale from the left nostril and exhale from the right nostril.

Enumerated benefits of Pranayam

Yogacharya says that this pranayama activates your Ida Nadi i.e. left nadi. Due to which your nervous system becomes active. The body temperature decreases and the mind also becomes calm. He says that even modern science accepts this. By doing Shitali Pranayama, it is beneficial in reducing the body temperature (many times the body gets hot due to heatstroke) and also in high blood pressure.

these people don’t do it

Umang Tyagi says that if you have cough, low BP, asthma or you have depression problem then do not do Sheetali and Chandrabhedi Pranayam, because they increase coldness and even if you are pregnant, consult your doctor before doing it. You can do any one of these in the morning or make a combination of them and do all three pranayams to give something different.
