Nowadays, due to changes in lifestyle and food, the number of heart patients is increasing. If the heart disease is detected on time, then the disease can be controlled by medicines or avoidance and can avoid getting stuck in any serious situation. Let us tell you about the three tests through which doctors can accurately assess heart disease.
Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG)
Electrocardiogram i.e. ECG or EKG is a normal and necessary investigation. In this, the electrical activity of the heart is measured. Actually, small electrical signals are formed with every heartbeat. They are recorded through the machine and doctors understand from them whether the heart is working properly or not. In this, electrodes are installed on the patient’s chest, hands and feet. Through which the electrical signal born with beats is measured and the machine prepares the report in some time.
Why is ECG necessary?
Through electrocardiogram, heartbeat disturbances, damage to heart muscles or blockage can be detected. This test is done immediately in a state of heart attack or chest pain. This test can be done very easily and does not cause pain.
Echocardiogram (Eco Test)
Echocardiogram is an ultrasound test based in which heart photos are taken. This provides information about the shape of the heart, valve, muscles and blood flow. In this, the patient is lying on a bed, a device is rotated on his chest, through which the ultrasound image of the heart is formed. This test is also completely safe and there is no pain in it.
Why is Echocardiogram important?
The echocardiogram gives information about the problems in the size, valve, muscles and blood flow. Through this, the blood pumping capacity of the heart can also be detected. Also, information is also available that there is no leakage or blockage in the valve. This test helps in detecting heart failure, valve disease or congenital heart disease.
Blood test
Cardiac enzymes such as cholesterol, triglycerides, sugar and troponin are examined through blood tests through blood tests. In case of heart attack or damage to heart muscles, these chemicals increase in blood. By examining them, you can get information about heart problems or its possibility and treatment can be started on time.
Why is blood test necessary?
The amount of cholesterol and triglycerides present in the blood reveals the risk of heart disease. Apart from this, cardiac enzymes like troponin provide information about heart attack. Whereas by finding the amount of sugar in the blood, important information about the health of the heart can be found.
Other important tests
Apart from these three investigations, there are some other tests, which give information about the problem related to the heart.
In the stress test, the patient is run on a treadmill or bicycle and the capacity of his heart is examined through ECG.
Coronary angiography is used to detect blockage in heart arteries.
