It is common for police to take action against those who break traffic rules on the roads of Himachal, but this time the matter is different and shocking. Such drivers have also come to light in Himachal, who have been issued challans not just once or twice but more than 100 times. It would not be wrong to call this driver “Challan Veer”. Not only this, there are many drivers who have records of violating traffic rules 30-40 times.
The habit of repeatedly breaking the rules has now become a burden on these drivers, because the court has taken a strict stance and taken strict action. Which these spoiled drivers will remember for a long time. This case not only shows the extent of negligence, but has also become a big lesson for those who consider traffic rules a joke.
Rohit of Mandi became a challanveer
The matter has come to light from Mandi district. Here Rohit Arora of Tarna of Mandi city has become a challanveer by getting 101 challans deducted. 101 challans have been issued for his vehicle. Taking a strict stance, the court has recovered a fine of Rs 3,02,100 from Rohit Arora. Apart from this, the court has imposed heavy fines on other drivers also.
Court imposed heavy fine
In fact, the court has taken a strict stance against the habitual drivers who repeatedly violate the rules under the Motor Vehicles Act in Mandi district. The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Mandi Aslam Beg has convicted eight such drivers and imposed a heavy fine of Rs 7 lakh 66 thousand 650. The court made it clear that no leniency will be shown towards those who play with road safety.

License also suspended
The court not only imposed fine but also disqualified the driving licenses of the culprits. The license of one driver has been canceled for six months, while the licenses of the other drivers will be suspended for three months each. The court has warned that if anyone is caught driving during the period of disqualification, more stringent legal action will be taken.
Bailable warrants were issued against the accused
Before hearing the case, the court had issued bailable warrants to all the accused and show cause notices regarding vehicle seizure. Appearance orders were given on 24 December, upon which the eight accused appeared in court on time and confessed to their crimes. The most discussed issue was that of the driver in whose name 101 challans were found registered. The court fined him more than Rs 3 lakh.
The court has sent a copy of the order to the licensing authority and all police station in-charges have also been informed about it. Instructions have been given to issue non-bailable warrants against the accused who did not appear in the court. This decision of the court is a strong message for those who consider the rules on the roads of Himachal a joke that the price of repeated negligence will now have to be paid not only in the form of challan but also in the form of heavy fine and license cancellation.
