What is E85 fuel and why is it so cheap?
Currently, the normal petrol that we put in vehicles contains 20% ethanol and 80% petrol, but in this new E85 fuel, 85% ethanol and only 15% petrol has been mixed. Ethanol is a kind of pure alcohol (eco-friendly fuel), which is not produced in factories but from the fields of the farmers of our country. It is prepared from sugarcane juice, maize, rice-wheat bran and even spoiled grains or rotten vegetables. Since it is prepared within the country, huge tax and expense of importing it from outside is saved. This is the reason why it is so much cheaper than petrol.
Can this fuel be put in your car?
You cannot put this cheap E85 fuel in every normal car or bike of yours. For this, the engine of your vehicle should be of ‘Flex-Fuel’ technology. At present, only a few selected vehicles of the country are included in this list, which support this cheap oil.
