Necessary clarification issued by the department
Following the spread of this email containing misinformation, the tax department has issued a detailed clarification. He thanked the taxpayers for promptly bringing this error to their notice and expressed regret for the entire inconvenience. The department has made it clear that they are working on a war footing with their service providers to remove this technical flaw once and for all. Most importantly, a direct appeal has been made to the taxpayers to completely ignore the previous misleading email related to the advance tax e-campaign for assessment year 2026-27. There is no need to take any action based on that email.
Why are these e-campaign mails sent?
